Summary: Shinra is more than the sum of its parts.

The air was thick, ashen gray with clouds billowing from the massive wound in the top offices of Shinra Headquarters. The imposing tower gaped open like the sobbing mouth of a mourner. He imagined his desk on fire, the monthly budget report crisping in its melting plastic tray. Without that report, he thought with a smirk, the whole company might grind to a halt.

The mighty empire had fallen, but Shinra was more than a faceless evil.

He tossed his Shinra ID to the street, turned, walked away. The colony was ruined and this worker ant had nowhere to go.

Hi, I just wanted to make note of how important I think this fic is. It took me a couple reads to realize how damned brave it was to take a more down-to-earth viewpoint on the company and to tell it from the point of view of someone behind the scenes and not just one of the Turks or Rufus or even Reeve. Thanks for this.

Thanks! I actually started a longer story detailing the destruction of Midgar/Shinra from the point of view of a regular suit, but I've yet to finish it. Thank you for taking the time to read and comment.
