Summary: You just know Barrett didn't take the whole "Guess who has Marlene" bit lightly.

Barrett shot a clear line of bullets leading right up to the mog's giant pink feet. Cait Sith was cowering behind its mog, the little robot cat's fur poofing out in a quite realistic simulation of terror.

"Don't hurt me! Don't hurt me! I'm jus' the messenger!"

"An' yer about to be the message!" snarled Barrett. A slight adjustment of his aim and the air was full of stuffing. The mog roared, charging to attack its attacker. Cait made a terrified mew and leaped for the mog's back, sinking claws into the pink stuffing.

"It can't think without me! STOP!"

You'd think, fifteen years after the game came out, I'd like him a little more, or at least dislike him a little less, but no. Still not a Barrett fan, and still think he's an ass.

*nod* I don't like Reeve's actions at that point - taking a child hostage. But frankly, I can absolutely see why he felt he had to, and there are oh so many points in the game where I want to bitchslap Barrett into next week for hypocrisy.
